4 Tools to Help You Improve Your Resume

Writing a resume is both a science and an art! And like anything, writing your resume becomes easier with practice. As a resume writer, here are 4 tools I can't live without:

🔥Grammarly: Grammarly is a writing enhancement tool; not only does it check for spelling and grammar, but it also scans your writing for flow and consistency. This tool is especially great if you find that your writing is naturally very wordy and you need help making your documents concise.

🔥Read Aloud Function: If you go to the review tab on Microsoft Word, you will see a letter "A" icon called "Read Aloud." This button will read your text out loud, which is perfect for checking the flow, clarity and incorrect words. It can be easy to spot SMELLING mistakes but not if you end up spelling a new word correctly instead (see what I did there - spelling/smelling🤣)

🔥Thesaurus: Up-level your writing by removing repetitive words. Highlight the repeated word right-click and select thesaurus, and a word list will appear. (Microsoft Word)

🔥SkillSyncer: SkillSyncer helps you scan your resume for keywords compared to the job posting. It is essentially like an employer's Applicant Tracking System reviewing how close a match your resume is to the job posting. This link will give you 5 FREE scans.
